Memories from our last trip to Brazil

That's why on this next trip we are going to be going to reach out to more of the poor children in the favela.
Above is the church that Providence planted. What's crazy is that they now have almost 2000 people! They're bigger than Providence!!
Below is my first taste of real coconut!!

Mmmmm!

I think this cinnamon Sugar Loaf is a go! Daddy seems to like it...a lot!

He said it tastes just like the cinnamon coffee cake at Starbucks.
I'm trying a recipe now!
I just mixed up a sugar loaf bread! It's in the oven and it smells great! I can't wait to taste it!

I'm Deciding on Recipes!!
I spent some time tonight looking for recipes! There are three kinds of bread I've chosen to bake and sell.
Sugar Loaf Bread is a cinnamon sugar bread named after a well-known landmark in Rio de Janeiro, Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Banana Bread is good! My mom has a great recipe that I will steal from her! Bananas are plentiful in Brazil!
Monkeys are everywhere in Brazil! Sometimes they get into trouble! I have my own Monkey Bread recipe that my dad loves!
I'm still trying to get in touch with Polly (she goes to our church and is from Brazil) who might be able to help me on the first recipe!
I hope I'll be able to test some out this weekend! Stay tuned!

Welcome to my Brazil Bread Blog!
So we were eating dinner as a family talking about how we are going to Brazil together for a mission trip. My brother is seventeen and has a job. My sister turns 16 soon and babysits for people. I asked my mom and dad, "What can I do to help raise money for our trip?" So we started thinking. Sell lemonade? Too cold. "What do you like to do?" My dad asked. I said I like to sing, but I don't think anyone will pay to hear me! He said, "What do people want at school that you could keep and sell for a profit?" I thought gum might be good, but right now they're really cracking on gum-chewing at the middle school!
Then I thought, "I like to bake!" So after talking, an idea was born! I'll call Polly (a friend from Brazil) and research, make, and try some different recipes, and then sell Brazil Bread!
